On Win11 Pro: Use group policy editor to make some changes:
Open Run: Press Windows Key + R Enter: gpedit.msc
Go to Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options
Find these two items and set them to Disabled: Just double click the item to change it's state.
Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (always) Microsoft Network Client: Digitally sign communications (if server agrees)
While you're in the group editor you might also want to fix guest share accessibility from Win11:
Go to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Lanman Workstation
Find the item: Enable insecure guest logons
And set that to Enabled
Then reboot your Win11 machine.
Win11 Home
I have never used the „Home“ edition of Windows but it's my understanding that it has no Group Policy Editor but it does have the PowerShell utility.
In Win 11 search bar search for powershell then right click > open as administrator.
Then run these commands:
Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true -Force
Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force
Then reboot your Win11 machine.
